Bush and Young Tree Fertilizing
Spring is an excellent time to receive your shrub and young tree fertilizing!  Using a special probe, we inject nutrients into the root zone of your landscape bushes and young trees to enhance health and hardiness. Includes slow-release fertilizer and a special package of micronutrients also needed by your plants.

While these nutrients are not needed in large quantities by trees and shrubs, they are still necessary for the optimum health of the plants. Along with the nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, these nutrients will be taken up by the roots now that their sap is running and used by the trees and shrubs. Since spring is the busiest growing time of the year, this is an excellent time to receive this early spring feeding.  We can fertilize your bushes in spring or fall or both.

Pruning of bushes
We trim, prune and shape bushes and young trees to keep them healthy and attractive. Pruning is normally done twice a year: summer to trim and shape bushes after spring growth, and late fall/early spring to clean up and get bushes ready for spring.

Pruning is necessary so your bushes do not grow out of control leaving you with an unattractive landscape. By trimming them twice a year your bushes will maintain their shape and fullness and prevent overgrowth resulting in bush damage.

Mulch Installation
To keep your beds and landscape well manicured it is benifitual to lay down new mulch each year. After cleaning and edging your beds if needed, we lay down the attractive natural mulch of your choice, beautifying your beds and minimizing weed growth. We also install bed edging.

We have a bed edger that makes clean, deep edges from your grass and mulch. The purpose is so grass will not jump into your beds and it gives a manicured appearance around your beds.  We can mulch your beds anytime of the year with a team of employees that are well trained.

Pre-emergence Weed Control In Beds
Are you tired of weeding your beds all summer? Let us put down a pre-emergence weed control in your beds. This is a granular product that is spread on your beds early in the spring right after the snow melts and the ground begins to thaw. The result is it prevents weeds and grasses from germinating and growing in your beds! We can lay down broadleaf and grass preventer without harming the existing plants in your beds

Landscape Installation and Renovation
Let us update your old and overgrown landscape by installing new and vital bushes, flowers, etc. to make your beds around your home look modern and have great curb appeal.

We work with you one on one to design your beds the way you would like them to look. Making sure the plants are in the right areas for optimum growth and aesthetically nice. We remove your old landscape and dispose of it, prepare your beds and plant the new bushes, flowers, etc and put down rich mulch or beautiful landscape stone.

Vegetation Control on Gravel Areas
This is a round up on all unwanted weeds and grasses that may have traveled to your beds, rocks, gravel, etc to give your landscape a clean and manicured appearance.  This usually has to be done two times a season, once in June and then again in August.  We would be happy to provide this service for you to keep your gravel areas looking beautiful and weed free.

Birch and Ash Tree Borer
These trees can be attached by borers that eat through the cardiovascular tissue and kill then. Birch and White Ash trees are susceptible to attack by borers, which begin by killing a few branches, but can eventually kill an entire tree. We can provide a spring/fall treatment that gives season long protection for your trees and/or bushes.

Here is how it works: We inject the product into the ground, and the tree slowly takes it in through the roots. Uptake is enhanced by the nitrogen, as the tree begins its major sap flow in the spring, it will translocate (spread) the Merit through the whole tree, both in the trunk and branches, as well as into the leaves.

Japanese Beetle
Did you have Japanese Beetles everywhere last year? While the adult beetles have some favorite trees they eat (linden, crabapple, elm, red leaf trees, birch) they also like a number of flowers and bushes (especially roses).

We can spray your trees for Japanese Beetles so they will no longer destroy your trees. The other concern is for lawns in that their juvenile stage is a white grub that eats the roots of grass plants. We can provide a grub treatment that will give you season long prevention of grubs in your lawn as a result of your Japanese Beetle.

Crabapple Trees
Keep your crabapple trees looking beautiful all season long! Apple Scab is a fungus that attacks apple and crabapple trees. In early stages, the leaves have dark green spots on them. Later, the spots turn brown, then the leaves turn yellow and/or dry up and fall off, often leaving the tree almost empty of leaves by late July. The solution is Apple Scab Treatments. The tree must be treated before the leaves become infected with the scab fungus.

Vital and Green comes and treats your trees twice during the spring, just when the timing is right, protecting your trees from this debilitating and obnoxious ailment for the rest of the growing year.

Lilac and Viburnum Borer Treatments
Spring is the time to protect your Lilac and Viburnum from borer attack. The wasp-like moths are laying their eggs at the basal 12 inches of the plant. These trees and ornamentals can be attached by borers that eat through the cardiovascular tissue and kill then.

Heavily infested plants appear unhealthy, and often show swelling, cracks and emergence holes at the base of the plant. These Borer attack from ground level to about 18 inches above the base of Viburnum Species. Gnarled and scarred stems with sawdust are sure signs of attack, swellings and callus growth indicate the healing of old injury sites or long standing damage.  We can provide a spring/fall treatment that gives season long protection for your trees and/or bushes.

Longneedle Pine Treatments
This is a treatment for Pine Sawfly as well as Mugho Pines in beds. These Sawflies eat the needles off your pines and leave the stem of the tree standing. Defoliation is most severe in the crown to upper half of the tree but heavily infested trees can be completely defoliated. If this occurs after the winter buds have formed, many branches or even the entire tree can be killed.

There are two generations each year. Larvae of the first generation feed on needles from the previous year.  Young sawflies eat the more tender outer parts of the needles while older larvae consume them entirely. They are full-grown (about inch long) in July. The second generation of this sawfly feeds on both old and new needles during August and September.
