Spring lawn care tips you should know...
- Lightly rake your lawn as soon as possible to clean leaves, debris, snow mold or vole damage to encourage spring grass growth. If you have mouse trails or areas where grass is matted down, it is vital to rake these areas!
- Fertilizer and crabgrass prevention require water to activate. Please water your lawn if we do not receive a half inch of rain within 7 days after your lawn is treated. Water 45 minutes per sprinkler move, so your treatment is not diminished.
- If you have light brown spots from your dog's urine over the winter, rake the area thoroughly, water heavily, and re-seed. Some people recommend gypsum to help absorb it.
- If you have dead patches in your lawn it may be from disease/drought damage from past years. Dead grass/thatch should be removed. Add a little topsoil and re-seed these areas or aerate and overseed the damaged areas.
